Section 5 · About Us

Engineers, researchers, and operators.

Robina Robotics was founded by Silicon Valley veterans who have spent their careers shipping the kind of systems that other people depend on — robotics, distributed software, machine learning, and the hard, unglamorous work of making advanced technology actually function in the real world.

Our Mission

Helping advanced robotics work alongside people.

At Robina Robotics, we specialize in the complete lifecycle of humanoid robot deployment — from market evaluation and acquisition through training, certification, installation, and long-term support.

Our focus is deployment, safety compliance, and human-centered integration, ensuring that advanced robotics technology operates seamlessly alongside humans in homes, offices, and industrial settings. We are technology-agnostic across humanoid platforms; what we are not agnostic about is rigor.

"Humanoids will not succeed because they are impressive. They will succeed because someone takes responsibility for the boring parts — the safety case, the network plan, the firmware schedule, the spare parts."
The Team

Three decades of robotics, research, and production engineering.

Our principals have built systems for IBM, Stanford, NASA, GE, VISA, and the University of California, and have shipped production AI/ML across automotive, pharma, and finance.

Founder

Dr. Anupam Bagchi

Ph.D. in Robotics with a specialization in path planning, and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. Thirty years in Silicon Valley spanning IBM, Stanford University, Aeris Communication, and several startups, with hands-on work across computer graphics, e-commerce, content management, networking, robotic drug-screening, and business intelligence — applying data science, machine learning, and AI as the problem demanded. Co-author of Essentials of Python for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Synthesis Lectures on Engineering, Science, and Technology) and inventor on three Internet-of-Things patents.

Advisor

Prof. Pramod Gupta, Ph.D.

More than 25 years as a researcher and academician across NASA, GE, VISA, the University of California, and several startups. Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McMaster University, with a specialization in Neuro-Control of Robotic Manipulators. Author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and four books published by Springer. Research areas include neural networks, machine learning, AI, robotics, data modeling and analytics, and data mining. Currently consults independently in the data science domain and serves as Adjunct Faculty.

Engineering Director

Uddipan Bagchi

15+ years across production computer vision, distributed systems, and financial-planning software. Co-founder of CosTheta Technologies; shipped six production AI/ML systems across automotive, pharma, and finance — including deployments operating at 100% precision with zero false positives. Deep commercial experience in software architecture, algorithm design, data engineering, production ML, LLM orchestration and agentic pipelines, large-scale distributed systems, REST/FastAPI backends, BI dashboards, and C-level stakeholder engagement across the US, UK, and India. Routinely uses Claude Code, Gemini, and Grok as AI coding assistants paired with rigorous code review, achieving 4–5× development velocity on new modules.

Where We Sit

Independent, but well-connected.

Robina Robotics is an independent consultancy. We are not owned by, exclusive to, or financially incentivized by any single humanoid manufacturer — which means our recommendations are honest. At the same time, we maintain working relationships across the leading platforms (Tesla, AgiBot, Figure, Unitree, and others) so we can move quickly from "evaluation" to "deployed and supported."

Our home base is San Jose, California — about 30 minutes from most of the humanoid programs in the Bay Area. We travel for site assessments and installations.
